The Human Brain Project (HBP) is building the European Brain ReseArch INfrastuctureS (EBRAINS) to help advance neuroscience, medicine and computing through six ICT service categories: NeuroinformaticsBrain SimulationHigh Performance Analytics and ComputingMedical InformaticsNeuromorphic Computing and NeuroroboticsBy providing EBRAINSHBP aims to contribute to an integrated understanding of the human brain and build up a community intended for both neuroscience and neuro-inspired research as well as a wide range of associated stakeholders within brain related diseases, pharmaceutical industries, ICT, robotics etc.  

 

The HBP infrastructure workshop is designed to achieve a better understanding of the wishes and needs of stakeholders, with a focus on patient associations and industries for being part of the EBRAINS community. 

 

This workshop will bring together stakeholders for a two-day workshop. The first day will be focused on introducing EBRAINS and services with presentations and knowledge sharing from a selected team of researchers from the HBP’s service categories. The second day will be focused on fascilitated discussions among participants, with a focus on better understanding how industry and patient associations might benefit from and contribute to EBRAINS. 

Speakers include

  • Prof. Jan Bjaalie – Leader of the Neuroinformatics Platform and Infrastructure Operations Director in HBP
  • Dr. Timo Dickscheid – Co-leading the neuroinformatics platform, and responsible for the development of a publicly accessible multi-level human brain atlas in HBP
  • Lars Klüver – Director at the Danish Board of Technology and leader of Inclusive community building in HBP

The outcome of the infrastructure workshop is a report delivered to the European Commission, the Human Brain Project, which will contribute to the strategic development of the EBRAINS community during and beyond the HBP 

The infrastructure workshop is organised by the “Ethics&Society” group of the EU Flagship “Human Brain Project (HBP)”. 

 

The workshop will take place from the 9th to 10th of December 2019, in Brussels. Expenditures for transport and accommodation will be covered by the DBT (please see information below).

Reimbursement 

Participants of the workshop will receive a formula for travel reimbursement after enrolling to the workshop. Accommodation will be booked by the DBT and participants should therefore not have any expenditures for accommodation. Your need for travel reimbursement and accomodation should be checked in the enrollment process. *Please note that HBP Partners  will need to book accommodation and are not eligible for reimbursement through DBT*

 

Rules of reimbursement

The maximum for travel expenses, that will be reimbursed is 300 € and only travels on economy class. *Please note that HBP partners are not eligible for reimbursement*. If you are hindered because of sickness or health related issues a medical certificate needs to be provided for travel reimbursement.

All original receipts/invoices (from purchase of e.g. plane tickets, train tickets etc.) and boarding cards must be enclosed in the reimbursement form. The reimbursement form will be sent to accepted participants after registration.

 

We accept original electronic documents and tickets by email or if it is not possible to get electronic documents, the original documents and tickets may be sent by regular post (not email).

*No scanned or photocopied documents are accepted*.

 

No later than two weeks after completed journey, the filled in reimbursement form should be received by the Danish board of Technology Foundation.
